Unlike

Unlike may be too strong of a word.  Let's just say I'm not completely comfortable with the latest developement in my 12 year old's life.  One day you let your son go on Facebook so he can share video game tips with his friends (under your supervision) and the next thing you know some girl in his class makes a comment.  Then they start texting each other and two weeks later he suddenly wants to go to the school play, (just for extra credit of course), and the day after that they have both changed their status to "in a relationship" and all of her friends "like" it !!!!!!

I can't believe my son asked this girl scout/ honor student/ pretty girl to be his girlfriend.  I suspected they were sharing a mutual crush but I didn't think it would reach this level.  He didn't inform me of his future plans or even ask for my approval.  I hardly know this girl and haven't met her parents. They can't even date.  What is this?

He doesn't even want to talk about either.  Sure I'm good for helping him type his English paper when he's half asleep but do you think he bothers to have conversation with me about anything going on in his life  that consist of more than one word answers? And since when did he start locking his bedroom door?

I figured I had at least two more years until anything remotely like this would happen and now I'm worried their going to run off together to Vegas and elope. Relationships are for when you're in your twenties and not living at home.  I'm not sure how to best navigate this uncharted territory.
