The New Kids On The Block

First my baby, (my 10 year old), develops a mustache and underarm hair and now my 12 year old is going to high school football games. Games where, swarms of bored teens gather looking to party and the cheerleaders sport team colored garter belts!  (It's been twenty years since I was this age, but when did that become acceptable for your daughter?  Is this a new effort to promote marriage before pregnancy?)  I see nothing but a wave of  debauchery crashing in the horizon coming closer and closer to the shore to sweep my children away in the undertow and I'm worried.

This time my son was accompanied by his mom and dad, but want happens when it's not cool to hang out with your parents and he or one of his buddies wants to take the car and go out on a Friday night?  When they start believing that they know it all and want to handle everything on their own? When the hugs become fewer and more far between and you're waiting up at night for them to come home?

I'm not looking forward to that.  I miss those Bob the Builder/ building Lego skyscrapers and having teddy bear picnic days.  I loved those days.

"Can we fix it?"   We can if we have to, but I'm really hoping we don't have to get all David Hasselhoff /Baywatch rescue on him.
