Most of the time I wish there were signs - blatantly obvious, glaring, flashing signs that would hit me over the head and guide me where to go in life so I would have no doubt. Then I would never have to think about any turn. I would just follow the arrows and know I was going the right way. Sometimes it looks like there are guide posts, but I just don't trust them, like this one.
Tomorrow is my first assignment as a sub in a high school that boasts of being the home of the bulls, located on a street named Mansfield, in an English Honors class. That sounds very, very familiar. First, I never seem that far from being around bull. Once at USF with their own bull mascot and now here. Then, the subject is English Honors, which is incidentally my favorite class of all time, that was taught by the best teacher ever in little town called Mansfield, Ohio.
Coincidence? The only thing missing is parking spot reserved under my name. What if all the students have the same first names as all the kids in my high school class? What if there's a girl in the second row middle seat who's just like I was then? Talk about a Twilight Zone moment. It's almost as if the sub Gods know that and have aligned the stars up accordingly. Until I live through it though, I'm just going to have to cross my fingers that they got it right.
