Urine sprayed all over the bathroom floor, a sick 6 year old wiping their snotty runny nose on you as you console them from the demon child that punched them in the gut, subsequently catching strep throat, and a fourth grader telling you to "Shut the eff up". Ahhh yes, sounds like the beginning of a wonderful new school year.
Whatever happened to enjoying kids and believing in the educational system. I mean, why is it that our kids' sports teams can have numerous adults assisting a coach yet a classroom just has one leader? And don't even get me started about the lack of involvement some parents have.
But I suppose all stressful situations are just tests made to help you find your own inner peace and become a better person. (And I thought I had the whole Zen thing down.) My inner calm is way off the rails and in need of a serious dosage of some music therapy to steer it back on track again. I thought I was doing so well with my recent foray into 70's lite rock but maybe I need to narrow it down to just one strong, solid go to song. I think I'm going to use this one to serve as my new mantra whenever I feel like the urge to go off on anyone under five feet tall. It was top of the charts back in 1975 so let's see if it can still work today.
