This is the newest picture of my 23 month old nephew. My email hasn't been flooded with photos of his every waking moment lately as he rarely stands still these days. (Notice the high sides of the playpen used to cage him in the background.) Not that I blame his parents. They lovingly dress him in Elmo attire with his hair neatly parted on the left and this is how he disrespects them. He changes into a bright orange polo and dons a wild faux hawk. Even his clenched fist and defiant stare seem too rebellious for someone still under the age of two. Like he's going to scale the soft constraints of his holding pad and take his tricycle for a joyride around the driveway. I don't know whether to be impressed or concerned.
