Song Contest

Okay, here are the contenders for the recent Medi post, so far. When the list is complete, blog viewers can cast their vote, which will count for half of the score. The other half will be based on my preference, since it is my blog. The song with the highest score wins and will be featured in the post.

1. Firework, by Katy Perry. It's kind of corny and it looks like a painful condition to possess the ability to emanate explosives from your chest, but the message is right. That and my son likes it. When I played the video for him he said, "You're a firework mom. Your thoughts are magical." This kid can live at home as long as he wants with compliments like this. I'm a bit corny too.YouTube - Katy Perry - Firework

2. Born To Run, Bruce Springsteen. The boss never fails, but can he make it to the top? YouTube - Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run

3. Dream On, Aerosmith. No explanation necessary, the ultimate song.YouTube - Dream On.Aerosmith

4. Right Now, Van Halen. With musicianship like this, who needs David Lee Roth? Clear, direct, and strong. They just don't make 'em like that anymore. YouTube - Van Halen - Right Now + lyrics

5. Fat Bottom Girls, Queen. My husband's suggestion, because even if you're on the high end of the scale - you have a lot to offer. YouTube - Queen Fat Bottom Girls

6. True Colors, Cyndi Lauper. My entry and one of those songs that always gets to me. Sensitive souls may need a tissue before listenining to this song, as it's who we really are that matters. YouTube - Cyndi Lauper "True Colors"

7. Meant to Live, Switchfoot. Inspired by T.S. Elliot's "The Hollow Men", a rousing tribute to reaching for something more.YouTube - Swithchfoot-meant to live(for so much more)

8. Forever May You Run, Gavin Rossdale. The title says it all- to always feeling empowered. YouTube - Gavin Rossdale - Forever May You Run
