Play of the Day

Last week, my baby felt defeated once again after his special football play only garnered him the usual three yard gain. D. always finds a place to put it in, but it never takes off the way he envisions it and no words from me ever seem to make it better.

But this time it actually worked. Just as it seemed as if the other side had stolen the Gators' bite, and they were too distraught to even remember their routes, E showed them what a real champion looks like. In the last play of the game, the quarterback, with a quick slight of hand, placed the football on Nugget's back and then, (with all the flexibility of a well trained, double jointed Ninja), he seamlessly tucked it to his side, and kept zigzagging ahead at full speed against multiple defenders and the cold Florida breeze, as if they didn't exist. In a matter of seconds, he was nearly at the end zone, and moments away from performing his new funky victory dance... And then came #10. This kid hauled enough ass to generate at least a few dollars from his parents for the flag pull and took him down at the 1 yard line!!!

But it doesn't matter. It was still E's personal best in his two year flag football career and definitely the team's play of the day. MVP all the way. Hell, yeah!!!!!!!
