A group of eleven guys gathered around me to sing Happy Birthday to me tonight. They were all eight years old and on my son's flag football team and referred to me as Mrs. Coach, but still... That was a first and pretty adorable considering half of them probably still think girls have cooties. It's amazing what a coach can get kids to do. All that and they managed to make it to the playoffs too!
Though I wouldn't have minded going out for a drink at an Irish pub to celebrate my birthday, this wasn't such a bad way to end the day either. (Just 13 more years and we can combine the two.)
