Mr. C

Dear Santa,
In case you weren't watching closely, I think I've been pretty good this year. I received all A's, lost lots of weight, and started working all while trying to be a good mom, wife, daughter, sister, and aunt. Okay, so I wasn't always pleasant to be around and my choice of words was not always appropriate and I did make my kids wear clothes that weren't completely dry and eat Beefaroni for dinner, but I had a lot on my plate. You know how it is, especially during this time of the year. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that Mrs. C is feeling a little neglected these days what with all your overtime. Regretfully, we all fall short sometimes but I hope that you know my heart well enough to forgive me.

I'm not exactly sure what I want this year. A new house with more square footage and a pool would be nice, or maybe a Caribbean cruise. You really can't go wrong with jewelry or straight up cash either. It really doesn't matter since I have all that I need, but I do have one request. My son Timmy has conceded to putting a guinea pig on his wish list after you gently informed him, in your letter, that you didn't have a puppy that would fit with our two cats. I'm not too fond of rodents but am willing to deal with my phobia as long as he or she is mild mannered and stays at least 20 feet away from me at all times.

I know pets aren't your specialty but you must have some connections being Santa and all. Whattd'ya say? I'd really appreciate it. Otherwise I'm afraid I might subconsciously forget to close the back door and the little piggy could become roadkill as it scurries across the busy road behind the house. Thanks big guy. I'll leave the Bailey's and The Grinch shot glass out for you in case the hot chocolate needs a little kick, just drink responsibly.

Fly safe,
Erin B. (nice list member since 1974)
P.S. I'm sorry I hit that poor armadillo the other day, but he really shouldn't have been jaywalking, (a law is a law no matter who or what you are). Anyways, it was an accident and I didn't see any bloody remains when I returned to the scene of the crime. There's a good chance that he survived.
