Tis the Season
Yesterday Dave, my husband who I thought I had trained better, informed me that he's done with his Christmas shopping. After all, he ordered a WWE action figure three pack for Evan, a Chemistry set for Timmy, and hit up Kmart at 5am to buy Rock Band 2 for the entire family. Wow, that should just about cover it. However, he failed to factor in cards, stocking stuffers, gifts for teachers, gifts for his nieces and nephew, his mother, his wife (Rock Band doesn't count), gifts for Evan's birthday, and the fact that three gifts under the tree will be completely anticlimactic to two boys who still believe in the magic of Santa! Fortunately for him, I will fill in the gaps as I, and women everywhere have been doing for decades. Yet when I think about it, I'd really like to just buy one gift per person too. Christmas should be special but I could do without the stress of buying gift after gift. All I really want is to enjoy spending time with the ones I love.
