This morning at 10:22am,(which coincidentally is my birthday),the newest member of the family was born. Coming in at 8lbs, 21 inches, with Irish green eyes, is my one and only nephew, Emmett William Cummiskey!!!
I've only seen one cell phone picture so far, but from judging from the way he was waving his arms and winking, he's clearly inherited the Cummiskey charm. Either that or he can barely open his eyes and is just trying to make sense of his new,confusing environment. Nevertheless, he's absolutely beautiful and I can see some of my brother's likeness in his features.
Randy sounded so proud and happy on the phone, like I've never heard him before. I keep checking my email for more photos but I know that wild horses couldn't drag him away from the hospital at this point. In fact, he couldn't get off the phone fast enough with me when the nurse brought his son into the room. I remember how it feels to finally have those first moments with your baby and I'm glad he's experiencing it. I know it's sounds cliche but the love you have for your child truly is like nothing else.
